The setting of this book is during the Nazi occupation in Germany. It's about a young foster girl who finds refuge in books and feeds the soul. It's also a movie our right now.
I just finished The Book Thief. The narrator is death, but it's not how you would imagine death's personality, at least for me any way. It is a sad book but it also made me smile at times. I liked it because it was a child's story and nothing horrible happened to the child. The child experienced a lot of death and loss, but this was due to the war going on. She was loved and protected in a strange sort of way. I don't want to give too much away. But it's a great book.
